| 2007-08: In his rookie season, became the Owls' sixth man, coming off the bench first a total of 11 times ... played in all 30 games as a true freshman and averaged 4.0 points and 3.3 rebounds for Rice ... was the team's leading shooter from the field, connecting on 46.3 percent of his shots ... started seven games during the year ... scored 81 of his 121 points off the bench ... had two of his strongest games of the year against UCF ... at home in February, registered a career-high 11 points and 12 rebounds against UCF for his lone double-double of the year ... was 3-for-7 from the field against the Knights and knocked down a career high 5-of-6 free throws ... his 12 rebounds in the first meeting against UCF doubled his previous career, rebounding performance ... he also played a career-high 30 minutes in the game ... at UCF two weeks later scored eight points and had five rebounds ... only other double-digit scoring night came in Conference USA opener when he scored 10 points against Marshall ... was 5-for-8 from the field against the Thundering Herd, finishing with three, second-chance baskets along with five rebounds ... garnered his first start just three games into his career at Rice (against Richmond) and started five straight games later in the year including on the road at Oklahoma as well as the Owls' first four Conference USA games.
High School: At The Lawrenceville School, averaged 14 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks for coach Ron Kane, in addition to producing two triple-double games... Named second-team all-prep by the Trenton Times and the Trentonian and was selected to the All-Middle Atlantic Prep League team as the Big Red posted an 18-11 overall record... The prep school is best known as the one attended by Joakim Noah, of the two-time national champions University of Florida... As a senior in 2006, at the United Nations International School in New York City averaged 27 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks as he was named athlete of the year and league MVP... Two-time all-conference selection and also competed for the NYC Jaguars in AAU competition. |
