2007: Served as both punter and kicker, going 19-29 on FG's with a long of 47 yards, and 3 kicks blocked. Was the teams primary punter with a 41.6 avg. and a long of 61 yards and 17 inside the 20.
2006: Won starting placekicking chores as a true freshman after a brief opportunity at punter didn’t materialize, and went on to establish a Big East record with a 56-yard field goal against Syracuse.
Primary punter in the Bulls’ second and third game of the season, although he got in one late punt in the season opener vs. McNeese State (9/2) after Ilia Petrov struggled. Fared marginally well vs. Florida International (9/9) with five punts for a 37.4 average, including a long of 47 and three of five punts inside the 20. But after a 31.3 average on three punts at UCF (9/16), he gave way to rugby-style punter Justin Teachey. Stayed poised and eventually won field goal and PAT chores during the North Carolina (10/14) game. Made good on first career field goal from 27 yards in that game and added two PATs in USF’s win. Was 5 of 9 on field goals for the season, including the 56-yard Big East record kick vs. Syracuse (11/11), when he also made good from 47 yards...Made 13 of 14 PATs...Finished season with 10 punts for 34.3 average and a long of 47, with four downed inside the 20.
Robinson High School - Tampa (Fla.)- He was ranked 44th best player in Tampa Bay area by St. Petersburg Times, and named First team all-county by the Tampa Tribune. Alvarado was also selected to the Hillsborough County All-Star game. In his senior season he was 3 of 5 on field goals with a long of 41, he also had a game winning field goal against Palmetto. He had 51 PATs for 60 points to lead all kickers in Hillsborough County. As a junior he was 5 of 7 on field goals and had a 38.7 punt average. He also Plays Club Soccer, Played in the marching band, has a 4.0 GPA, and was Born in Honduras.
