UCF fell short against a young but talented Miami squad, losing 20-14. The Knights’ struggled mightily on offense, but there was plenty of good on the defensive side of the ball for UCF.

1. Joe Burnett - The senior corner might have botched a punt that led to a Miami score, but he easily provided the most offense for UCF as a returner. Burnett had 110 kick return yards, a touchdown and 52 punt return yards. Defensively he shut down his side of the field.

2. Johnell Neal - Burnett’s partner in crime did a very good job shutting down plays on the opposite side and had a 62-yard interception return for a touchdown.

3. Sha'reff Rashad - UCF’s senior safety had two interceptions on the evening and also finished with two tackles and two pass-breakups.

4. Bruce Miller - The sophomore end made plays all over the field for the Knights, logging three sacks and four tackles, all being for a loss. Almost as important as his sacks was the pressure Miller routinely put of Miami’s backfield.

5. Lawrence Young - The true sophomore was called for a late hit that turned into a Hurricane touchdown, but his intensity was invaluable for UCF’s defense. The linebacker finished with 11 tackles, three going for a loss.
