Find out how the Jacksonville Jaguars rated against the St. Louis Rams.
PASSING OFFENSE: B-plus --
David Garrard
threw an interception returned for a touchdown, but still passed for 335 yards. Mike Sims-Walker and Mike Thomas combined for 16 receptions.
RUSHING OFFENSE: A-minus --
It took three quarters for
Maurice Jones-Drew
to get rolling, but he wound up with 133 yards in 33 carries after having just 11 yards in eight carries in the first half.
PASS DEFENSE: B --
They still don't have a pass rush. The Jaguars got to
Marc Bulger
just once even though his best receiver,
Donnie Avery
, went down in the first half. Bulger was held to 213 yards and threw one pick.
RUSH DEFENSE: B-plus --
The Jaguars held
Steven Jackson
to 50 yards in 16 carries with his longest run of only 15 yards. They did such a good job against Jackson that the Rams gave him just four carries in the second half.
SPECIAL TEAMS: D --
Josh Scobee
kicked a 36-yard field goal to win the game but holder
Adam Podlesh
botched an extra point attempt by dropping the snap and averaged only 36.3 yards per punt in the swirling wind. The kick coverage team gave up a 58-yard return.
COACHING: C --
Against a team that lost its 16th game in a row, the Jaguars had three turnovers and were forced into overtime to get the victory. It was another example that the Jaguars under coach Jack Del Rio tend to play down to the level of their competition.
