“I want to go to UCF for awhile now,” said Goins, who had long considered UCF, but wanted to wait for the right moment. “I felt that it's time to give them my commitment," Goins told Knights News, after deciding to wear the black and gold.
Goins, who committed to UCF just after his official visit, also had Florida, Miami (Fl), and Michigan State on his list. Although the senior linebacker from Rockledge, FL had not visited any other schools, the coaching staff at UCF encouraged him to do so and have fun. Brian appreciated the trust the coaching staff had in him, and he is considering visiting FIU later this month, just for fun.
One of the reasons Brian wanted to play for UCF was the closeness he shared with the coaching staff, who he sees as father figures.
“I fell like I can talk to them at anytime I want to,” said Brian. “It's important.”
Goins is known for his great speed, versatility, and hard-hitting style, which will make him a great representative for UCF. The potential for UCF to be a great program excites him, and Brian is truly looking forward to playing.
“The reason I want to go to UCF is because they want to win,” he said. “They came close to several big wins over some good teams. I want to come in and help them to win those close games.”
Brian is fully qualified and has a 3.8 GPA. He wants to major in business at UCF and probably minor in history, where his passion lays. He plans to enroll early for the upcoming summer semester.
