Now that the Conference USA regular season is officially over, it’s time for us to announce our all-C-USA teams. To no one’s surprise, the Most Outstanding Player Award goes to UCF’s dynamic shooting guard, Jermaine Taylor, who led the conference in scoring with a 26.6 ppg. average, setting a new C-USA record.
First Team
C
Jerome Jordan
(Tulsa)
14.7 ppg 8.8 rpg- A big seven-footer with a solid mid-range game, has good feet for a man his size. Can finish strong and is a solid rebounder.
PF
Lawrence Kinnard
(UAB)
14.5 ppg 8.9 rpg. A great rebounder, he is physical, and plays hard on both ends of the floor. He has a knack for finishing strong.
SF
Aubrey Coleman
(Houston)
19.8 ppg 8.1 rpg He has a very famous foot, but his game should get recognition as well. He can score in bunches and uses his athleticism to eat up lose balls. He is a solid all-around player and one of the best rebounders in the country at his size.
SG
Jermaine Taylor
(
UCF
)
26.6 ppg 5.2 rpg He is a pure scorer, has a great mid-range game and can finish strong. He displays his 40 inch vertical with thunderous dunks.
PG
Tyreke Evans
(Memphis)
16.9 ppg 5.5 rpg 3.7 apg He is a great ball player on both sides of the court. A lock-down defender and a pure scorer with the ability to distribute. He drives the lane better than anyone and can finish it himself or kick it out for the open jumper. Evans simply makes it look easy.
