The Knights fell to 2-6 after a heartbreaking loss to ECU in overtime. The Knights led 10-0 going into halftime and had some positive play from several players, but UCF couldn’t hold on in the end.
Game balls will be tough to give out this week. There were a lot of bright spots, but again it was a tale of two halves for
UCF
, which again couldn’t put a complete game together.
Johnell Neal
-
The senior corner didn’t have a stellar game but he made plays when he had to and that’s all you can ask for. Neal had some bone rattling hits and finished with eight tackles. His biggest play of the game though was an interception in the final minutes of regulation to stop an ECU drive that could have ended the game in regulation.
Chance Henderson
-
Controlling the middle of the field and delivering some big time hits, Henderson finished with seven tackles, 1.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for a loss.
Jason Venson
-
The senior safety had some shoe string tackles that prevented touchdowns and finished with eight tackles and a sack.
Michael Greco
-
Two crucial turnovers towards the end of the game will taint his performance but Greco played a gutsy game. His numbers weren’t brilliant but he made some great plays with his feet. Dropped passes killed his completion percentage but Greco played a good enough game for the team to win.
Jamar Newsome
-
He had just two receptions but one went for 54 yards and a touchdown.
Antonio Wallace
-
The converted linebacker had arguably the best game of his senior season. He had six tackles and 2.5 sacks on the evening.
Jarvis Geathers
-
The juco transfer is continuing to make an impact as he adjusts to a different speed. The end had five tackles, three for loss, including one sack.
