Johnell Neal Shot
Coach George O'Leary said he talked to Neal and his mother recently. ""I was relieved to have spoken with Johnell and his mother today", said O'Leary. "I plan on visiting them in Baton Rouge. Johnell is an outstanding leader on this football team and he knows all his teammates are thinking of him."
Neal was visiting his family at home and was expected back on campus to start working on his second bachelor's degree, after recently graduating last week with a degree in Criminal Justice.
Last season, Neal teamed with fellow senior Joe Burnett to form perhaps the best cornerback duo in UCF history, as each player logged six interceptions. Both are legitimate NFL players and Neal is relying on a big 2008 campaign to increase his stock. The team is hoping that Neal can bounce back quickly from his injury.
Inside Knights will follow the story and will update our readers with any following information in regards to the shooting, but for now, it fortunately appears that Neal should be fine.
