League-High 194 on C-USA Academic Honor Roll

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - For the second-consecutive year, UCF placed the highest number of student-athletes on the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll as 194 Knights made the list during the 2007-08 academic year. Student-athletes named to the commissioner's honor roll must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or better.

The league announced the list on Tuesday. East Carolina followed UCF with 192 members on the honor roll, while SMU ranked third with 176 student-athletes on the list.

Thirty-nine members of the UCF football squad were recognized on the list, which also had 33 student-athletes from the Knights' rowing program. The Knights compete in rowing as an independent, but C-USA includes the sport in its academic awards.

Student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better also receive the commissioner's academic medal. Those award winners will be released Wednesday.
