UCF Football: Injury Update

AJ Guyton (Reinhold Matay/AP)

It has been a few days since UCF running back Phillip Smith suffered a lower leg injury in spring practice, and the official status of his injury has yet to be released, but he was seen at practice with a leg brace and on crutches. Sophomore wide receiver A.J. Guyton also was also wearing a leg brace.

The specifics of Guyton's knee injury have yet to be disclosed, but he was walking around at practice. Guyton was moving a little nimbly but by the looks of it, he shouldn't be out for too long.

Smith's brace was on his calf, so it doesn't appear to be a knee injury which is always good for any athlete. He put very little pressure on his leg but was able to apply some when he was standing, but still needed the aid of crutches.

Again, we have attained nothing official and this is all speculation, but neither Guyton's nor Smith's injuries appear to be devastating. We will inform you with the particulars of each player's injury when we are fully informed, but both should make a recovery by the time the season commences.
