Nygel Pearson is a 6-6, 300 pound offensive
lineman who's possibly a grey-shirt candidate for the 2004 class. Pearson planned to study physical education in
college. Why physical education you asked? Pearson stated that loves
football he has an aspiration to be a football coach one day. Currently,
Pearson has a 1080 on his SAT, and his GPA is 3.8. Perhaps Pearson can
begin his career at the campus he said "very nice, nice
campus."
Pearson's connection to UCF traced
back to former offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo. Coach Guge
spent a brief time on coach George O'Leary's coaching staff.
Since coach Guge left UCF last week for new coaching position with the New York Giants, some of the
recruits he brought in to UCF are in limbo, including Pearson.
Pearson visited UCF
on January 17th but he's a long way from making his decision. Clemson has been on trail for awhile
but Pearson still wants to wait. “I am still considering
them (Clemson) but I haven’t made up my mind yet," Pearson told
CUTigers.com. "They have been talking with me about starting in
January. Other schools will give me a chance to play in the fall so I’m not sure
what I will do." One thing is certain, Pearson
will make his college choice "probably on signing day."
O'Leary had offered Pearson a
scholarship during his official visit. "Yes,
they offered me," Pearson confirmed. Currently Pearson has an offer from
Clemson and the other from UCF. So who is his front runner right
now? "I really don't have one," said Pearson.
